Our Approach

Founded in May 2015 by Stuart King (Chief Executive Officer), Darren Perry (Chairman) and Andrew Lazarus (Director). Bondi Asset Management (‘BAM’) is an independent provider of best-in-class asset management solutions.

BAM has enlisted the services of One Investment Group as its independent trustee to ensure a higher level of governance for our investors. BAM have further retained the services of Eastern Hotels Group and The King Property Group to provide the relevant skill and experience to best extract value from the assets under management.

Our Team

Darren Perry

Chairman

Darren is an experienced company director and commercial lawyer with over 20 years experience in top tier global law firms. Currently, he is the Australian Managing Partner of Seyfarth Shaw LLP where he heads a team of over 60 professionals. Seyfarth Shaw LLP is an AMLAW 100 firm with global revenues of over US$650M.

Prior to founding the Australian practice of Seyfarth Shaw LLP in 2013, Darren was a partner of Freehills (and later Herbert Smith Freehills) for 12 years.

Darren has in the last decade been instrumental in driving the growth of a number of start up and early stage companies. He has been involved as a director, corporate advisor and investor in a number of ventures in a range of industries including technology and asset management.

Stuart King

Chief Executive Officer

Stuart's experience has been drawn from a wide variety of industries and professions. After starting in the legal profession, Stuart quickly chose a career in banking, focusing on financial markets, an area which saw him posted to London for 7 years and gave him access to and experience in most of the global financial centres.

Leaving finance in 2008, Stuart has pursued an entrepreneurial career with interests in a number of small to medium sized enterprises. Spanning tourism, retail, agribusiness and asset management, Stuart has been able to bring his legal and finance skills to his business management techniques which has helped him to build and develop a number of very successful businesses.

Justin Aitken

Portfolio Manager

Justin is an experienced hotelier being an owner for twelve years and consulted to the industry for thirty. He has overseen the success of his own hotel through organic growth, renovation and the selection and mentoring of staff.

Justin’s professional accounting and consulting services includes the review, selection, implementation, project management of a wide range of computer systems for the hospitality and various other industries.

He has worked for over 10 years in Accounting and Consulting firm Ernst & Young, as well as over five years as General Manager for MYOB. He specialises in Client Systems Management, Business Planning and Analysis, Process Reengineering and Business Improvement Assignments.

Justin has for over a decade been Owner and Licensee of the bar, Broadway Hotel.

Michael Touma

Director – Development Manager

Michael has over 30 years’ experience in the property development sector, using development management and advisory skills he has amassed more than $1 Billion worth of successful projects specialising in high rise residential apartments and multi-unit developments. Michael has successfully been involved in over 100 projects.

Charlie Touma

Director – Development Manager

Charlie has over 20 years of entrepreneurial skills and extensive knowledge in the property markets. His expertise involves implementing and advising developers on effective project sales and marketing strategies to achieve optimal results.

Colin Parras

Operations

Colin is a second generation hotelier. He and his family have owned and operated Hotels since the mid 1070’s, including Vic on the Park, Marrickville; The Royal Hotel, Ryde and the Cock n Bull, Bondi Junction.

Colin jointly formed the Eastern Hotel Group in 1996, of which The Piccadilly Hotel; AHA award winning The Eastern Hotel; The Vauxhall Inn; The Macquarie Hotel; and The El Toro Hotel & Motel were apart of this portfolio.

During 2015, Colin joined the Bondi Asset Management Group (BAM) and is overseeing the operation and management of The Vauxhall Inn and The Lone Pine Tavern.

In December 2016, Colin solely purchased The Ambarvale Hotel and is currently planning a major renovation at this venue.
